gotta say, i see the visual reason why they chose him, but im no thrilled with his acting abilities to grasp the hard edge of hal nor do i feel he will allow the role to overshadow his desire to portrey the hollywood IDEA of ryan reynolds. i know he's a comic fan but he had NO protest to the rape of deadpool and for a deadpool fan who is well off and engaged to hotness, i can't image why he would not have fought that. to be honest it worries me and the film may be a tongue in cheek failure. here's hopin though man. im just sayin i can hear the marketing spreadsheets opening up now over the script to dictate who will play what and what shoudl be in teh film. hopefully they spill coffee on it long enough to view the script and source material and we dont end up w/ ELECTRA

I am torn here. I like Reynolds. He didn't let them rape deadpool, he knew it was
the only way to get Deadpool to a solo flick in which they could re-boot the character
and do it right. He was all for doing it justice. Now with the onset of the GL news,
I think DeadPool is dead in the water.

Nice job! I really don't think he'll just turn his back on Deadpool. I thought he already signed a contract. I would guess he'd just take a little more time to do it.

I understand he concerns being made, given his track record. I personally think he has the diverse acting chops to pull it off. As said though, I hope this plays more to the strengths of the material than to the actors in the roles.

was just very unexpected

its unlikely fox will make enough money with wolvie dvds to do another origins film to theatrical release. they are really hurting and marvel is kicking their butt and in all likely hood fox is going to have to end up selling their rights to marvel studios/lionsgate or marvel studios/universal partnership. they really screwed the pooch and i for one will be greatfull to see the end of fox raping my comics. and thank god superman sucked and bryan singer is basically unemployable now. i hate him too. he ruined so much. GL is gonna be hit or miss, no middleground, but i expect it will be like FF, a good movie, fairly loyal, but not outstanding in anyway, maybe 1 memorable character, hopefully sinestro will be awesome, that will make or break that films watchability. if its not a seasoned actor w. some theatrical approach, we're screwed.

I dont know, the script for GL is pretty damned good I read it straight through,
so it kept my attention pretty well. After reading the script I really saw Chris
Pine in the Role. I hope they do it Justice.

well my ex is in film, and im not ignorant to the subject myself and i can pretty much guarentee teh script is only the begining, once the actors are cast, much of it changes, schedule and MARKETING huuuuugely alter it, its very easy to see how final in film scripts become failure, we just have to hope money doesn't swallow teh soul of this project. teh more dc/time warner try to make money with this, the worse it will be. honestly anything not done by lionsgate worries me they are they ONLY artist friendly studio and when everyone thought rebooting the perfect punisher film was worthless, warzone turned out to be a masterpiece of comic film. low expectations yeild great comic films its what we need for this, we need basically zero expectations so the only focus is a good film, and not breaking 600 million worldwide.
